    Description

These are 5 nice original General Jumbo wheels sold by the General Tire & Rubber Company in the later 1930's. They were made by Cleveland Welding which marked items with the Cleveweld logo which you can see in some of the closeup photos of the wheel centers.
These very unusual wheels have the 5 hole on 5-1/2" diameter bolt circle pattern which will fit 1928-1931 Ford Model A cars & pickups, 1932-1935 Ford cars & pickups, 1940-1948 Ford cars & half-ton pickups and 1949-1975 or so or perhaps even later Ford half-ton pickups.  Bob Woodburn     4O6-799-I847     in Bozeman Montana
These very special 14" wheels are 6-5/8" wide between the insides of the 2 rims. They were offered in the 1930's as accessories with huge rounded profile 14" tires to make cars look newer and ride easier. As far as I know, nobody makes tires similar to the original General Jumbo tires.
The best wide whitewall radial tires that I can find so far to fit these wheels would be the American Classic Radial 235/75R14 from Coker Tire. That tire has a 2-1/2" wide whitewall, is 27.87" in diameter and sells for 0 plus shipping. If you know of the best tire available to fit these gems, please contact me so I can add a note here.
These wheels have some light surface rust but no heavy pitting. They all have some chrome pealing off of the chrome plated centers. These wheels have never been repainted on the front sides and are all still wearing their original paint and pin striping on the fronts. The lower right wheel in the stack has had some red paint applied on the back side. Otherwise, all of the other 4 wheels are still wearing their original paint on the back sides.
The first photo shows the fronts of these 5 wheels as a group. The next 5 photos show the fronts of each wheel. The next 3 photos show closeups of the centers of the 3 wheels on the bottom row. None of the wheels have any lug bolt hole issues. I only showed closeups of the centers of the bottom 3 wheels because I am limited to 12 photos and wanted to show what they can look like when restored and installed on a vehicle.
The last 2 photos of this listing are for your reference only and show what these wheels look like when restored and have 14" wide whitewall tires mounted on them on a 1934 Ford coupe.
I have about a dozen more photos I can email to you if you send me your regular email address. Two of those photos show the areas between the beads that have either no or very light rust. Two of these wheels have very minor rim deflection in a couple of 3 inch or so long spots that will not be hard to straighten.
I have listed this group of 5 wheels as being for "Local Pickup Only" to keep this listing simple but I will do whatever I can to get them safely and economically delivered to you.
A friend is leaving Bozeman Montana on the afternoon of Thursday July 18. He is delivering a truck to Texas and parts to New Jersey. He may be able to safely and economically deliver these wheels to you depending on where you live and how soon you need them. It will take him about a week to reach the east coast of the USA.
I can ship these wheels in pairs using UPS Ground services so please contact me for a shipping quote if you like. I have plenty of secure indoor storage here if you are planning a trip to beautiful Montana sometime this summer, fall or whenever.
A friend of a friend in California ships things like this as partial loads in large containers going to most of the countries in Europe as well as New Zealand and Australia. Please let me know if you need a quote for the service.
This is a very rare opportunity to acquire a complete set of 5 of these very nice, scarce and distinctive wheels for your favorite street or rat rod or other project. If you like very interesting wheels on your vehicle, you might do well to give some very serious thought to hitting the "Buy It Now" button here before someone else does. Thanks a lot, Bob Woodburn in Bozeman Montana USA     4O6-799-I847
