Description
I just purchased this antique American Brilliant Period cut glass bowl from a local estate here in Central Virginia. The piece is unsigned but characteristic of the fine ABP produced during the late 19th century until c. 1910 (Dorflinger / Tuthill / Hoare / Libbey / Hawkes). The 3/8" thick walled bowl shows excellent clarity and rich tone quality. The hand cut design features panels of circular windows spaced between fine zipper cut ribs. The piece measures 9" in diameter and 4" high. The piece is in excellent condition with the only issue being a very shallow, a little larger than pinhead flake on the interior edge of one top point (you really have to look). This elegant serving / center bowl would make a fine addition to your collection of antique ABP cut glass.
