    Description

Here's a beautiful pair of antique cut glass overlay perfume or cologne bottles with their original stoppers, 1850s and American Brilliant period or earlier.  These could be American, Bohemian, or French.  Both bottles are extremely similar to examples pictured in the book "A Guide to Sandwich Glass" by Barlow and Kaiser, plate numbers 3135 and 3138.
Green Bottle: Just under 6 inches total height. Eight light-green to emerald panels on the body, six panels on the stopper. Slight cloudiness in some panels (not bad).  Good base wear, and a 24-ray cut star on base.  Original clear stopper stem has an etched number 8 that corresponds with the number 8 on the bottle's lip, and it fits very snugly.  No chips or cracks or damage whatsoever.
Blue Bottle: Just over 6 inches total height.  Eight luscious dark cobalt panels on the body, six panels on the stopper.  Good glass clarity and base wear, and base sports a polished pontil.  Original frosted stopper stem has some expected nicks, and there are a few minor nicks in the top of the stopper (inconsequential in my point of view).  This bottle has cut ovals and circles on the stopper, and both vertical and horizontal cut ovals on the bottom of the body.
A really nice antique pair that I will pack carefully and professionally.  Shipping cost includes insurance.  No international bidders.
