Ferris Jacobs
was born 10 Jan 1802 in Peekskill, New York. He was the son of
John Jacobs
and
Elizabeth  Ferris
. He married
Nancy Lasell
in 1834 at Peekskill, New York. She was the daughter of
Chester Lasell
and
Nancy Manning
. They had three children: Ferris, Jr., Timothy & Lucia.
Ferris Jacobs, Jr.
b. 1836 at White Plains, NY. He graduated from Williams College, later enlisting in the 3rd Regiment, NY Cavalry, where he was Captain of Co. E. He was eventually promoted to Brevet Brigadier-General. After the war, he married
Mary E, Hyde
at White Springs, Ohio in 1869. Four  children: Robert, Lasell, Ralph and Edward.
