Description
Description and Condition:This ABP oval bowl is cut to the maximum with hobstars and tiny cane, leaving no space open on the hand blown water white blank. The work is top quality, precise, hand polished and perfectly executed in all respects. The pattern and the ways the hobstars are constructed and cut strongly suggests that John Hoare produced this rare shape in the mid to late 1890s -- but I could not find a signature.
Please note how the pattern has four fields of six clustered hobstars separated by four chains of habstars. The bottom is so wonderful with its central oval hobstar framed by four areas of cane and hobstars. This bowl measures 11.5 inches long, 8.5 inches wide and 4.5 inches high. It fluoresces to confirm ABP glass.
Indeed, this is brilliant period cutting at its finest! My picky eyes could not detect any issues with this bowl from the rim edge to the bottom. If I overlooked a flea bite somewhere, I am sorry.

Final Comment:
Regardless of who produced this bowl, it is a must have for any serious collector of ABP glass. Very few bowls were produced in this large oval shape. Reasonable offers will be considered. But please don't poison the well with half price offers.
