This book is divided into two volumes (Tomes). The first, which comprises pages 11 through 141, is entitled "Guide des Recherches Genealogiques" and has a lot of general information on genealogical research. The second, which comprises pages 143 through 251, is entitled "Bibliographie Genealogique Alsacienne" and has a very detailed listing of sources of importance to Alsatian genealogy.
Alsace is a cultural and historical area in eastern France, on the west bank of the Rhine River and adjoining Germany and Switzerland. Its major city is Strasbourg where this book was published.
