Description
Welcome toANTIQUES & MOORE!
This listing is for a beautiful American Brilliant Period cut glass trumpet vase, c. 1900. The pattern features a double row of diamond cuttings above a large band of elongated cut diamond patterns with a cut rosette in the center of each. The stem is cut with several horizontal cut ring and notch cuttings on the hexagonal cut lower stem. The vase sits on a wide knob above the base which is cut with star cuttings around a rosette center. The interior of the vase features a long narrow inverted cone shape that provides a decorative element visible through the thick glass stem. The vase is marked on the top edge of base with the Hawkes acid etched trefoil "clover" trademark stamp that holds a fleur-de-lis and two hawks with "Hawkes" stamped below.
Measures 12" high with a 4 3/4" diameter top and a 4 1/2" diameter base. Glass is 3/8" thick and weighs approximately 3 pounds.
This gorgeous vase is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws. There may be a tiny no-harm nick in the cut design that we have missed but we found no flaws on this vase. There is a tiny amount of dirt visible in the bottom point of the interior that we were unable to easily remove with simple washing.
