    Description

Lot of 3 neat old non-regal halfpennies!  I think the dates are 1773, 1775 and possibly 1773 (?  this one is particularly unclear but it looks like a "small date" that as usually dated 1773).  Please review the photos and make your own determination.
    Sized about 28mm 27mm 28mm & 7.5g 5.6g. 8.5g.
Non-regal halfpenny families are discussed in the recent publication "Contemporary Counterfeit Halfpenny & Farthing Families" (Moore, Andrews, Bowser, Howes, Louis, Palmer, Rock, Rose, Schettino, Weston). Families will be expanded and new families added in a future edition of this book.
18th century Georgian halfpennies were used in day to day commerce in colonial and early America. Imitations were produced at unofficial mints in Great Britain and the United States during this era.
