    Description

Book: This is a bound typescript of the Memoirs of Joseph Richard Kemp compiled by Jonnie McCall Holt, dated about 1973. Joseph Richard Kemp was born in 1801 and died in 1892. He was the son of Joseph Kemp Jr. (1761-1802) and Mary Salter (1763-1818). Joseph Kemp Jr. was the son of Joseph Kemp Sr. and Jane White. There is also information about Mary Salter's family. The Kemp family was in Bladen County, North Carolina, in the 1800s. Information contained in this 33-page book goes back to the immigrant Kemp and Salter ancestors.
The name of a previous owner is written in red ink on the inside front cover. There are some red ink underlines throughout the book, but it is definitely usable. No torn or missing pages. Black tape binding over staples. The binding is a bit torn at the top, but the staples are solid.
