Description
Here is an excellent example of Weller Pottery's Marvo line decorated with foliage in raised relief. The line was produced from the mid-1920s until 1933, and this piece has the black ink "jug" maker's mark on the bottom, used by Weller in the 1920s. It is 9" tall with a 2.25" rim opening and a slightly flared base. The glaze is a very dark green on the base, and a lighter green on the raised foliage.Condition: Factory mint, but made with one 1/8" round glaze pop on the body (see photos #1 and #11), a smaller black pin-prick pop on the rim (photos #8 and #10), and a slight (1/8") indent or dip in the rim. The dip is about .5" long (photos #8-9). Fine faint crazing seen under magnification.
