Offered in this sale is a pair of fine antique early American cranberry to clear overlay cut glass wine stems decorated with the Strawberry Diamond and Fan pattern that I believe were made by either Dorflinger or the Boston and Sandwich Glass Company. They are not signed. I have found online reference to several of these glasses with a plain stem, however, I have not found one with the cut faceted hollow knob stem like these. I did find an example of this form illustrated however in
The Glass Industry in Sandwich - Volume 5
by Barlow Kaiser on page 42, figure 5056 but with a different cranberry overlay cut pattern. They measure roughly 4 5/8" tall x 2 5/8" in diameter. The condition of one glass is mint with no chips, cracks, flakes, hairlines or evidence of grinding. The second glass has one
pinpoint
flea bite on the edge of the foot rim which you can see illustrated in the 8th image but is otherwise in excellent condition.
