THIS LISTING IS FOR A GORGEOUS SIGNED HAWKES ENGRAVED CUT GLASS 9.5" CENTERPIECE BOWL IN THE "SHERATON" PATTERN, c. 1920. THIS UNUSUAL DESIGN BY THOMAS G. HAWKES IS AN EXCELLENT EXAMPLE OF TRIPLE MITER CUTTING IN BANDS. THIS DESIGN CAN HAVE 3 OR 4 MEDALLIONS ENGRAVED WITH A BASKET OF FLOWERS ALTERNATING WITH CORNUCOPIA.  THIS VASE HAS 4 ENGRAVED MEDALLIONS IN THE DESIGN. MARKED WITH THE HAWKES ACID ETCHED "CLOVER" TRADEMARK STAMP WITH "HAWKES" STAMPED BELOW. PICTURED ON PAGE 96 OF BOOK "AMERICAN CUT GLASS FOR THE DISCRIMINATING COLLECTOR" BY J. MICHAEL & DOROTHY J. PEARSON.
MEASURES 4 1/2" HIGH WITH A TOP DIAMETER OF 9 1/2" WITH THE BASE BEING 4 1/2" IN DIAMETER. WEIGHS 3.8 POUNDS.
THE GLASS IS IN EXCELLENT ESTATE CONDITION WITH NO CHIPS, CRACKS OR REPAIRS.
THIS CENTERPIECE BOWL ORIGINALLY HAD A MATCHING TRAY. FINDING THE TRAY WOULD MAKE FOR A VERY SPECIAL AND RARE SET. SOMETHING TO SEARCH FOR!
