Description
Scarce Footed Center Bowl Or Ferner: American Brilliant Period Cut Glass. This beautiful ABP cut glass footed center bowl or ferner is unusual due to its applied stemmed foot. The bowl is cut with hobstars, crosshatching and deep miter cuts. The base bottom is cut with a rayed star. The blank is sparkling and heavy. I am unable to find any signature but was likely made by a major company such as Libbey, Hawkes, Hoare, Pitkin Brooks, Parsche, etc.
Dimensions: 5 1/2 inches tall; 7 1/2 inch top diameter; 5 inch bottom foot diameter.
Condition: the bowl is free of any chips. Bottom wear on foot commensurate with age. The interior of the bowl has some minor haze, as though water was allowed to sit in it for too long a period at some time in the past. I tried to photograph the haze. It is difficult to see unless you look closely and does not affect the bowl’s beauty.
This is a bargain for a scarce example of a footed centerpiece or flower center. This bowl would make a beautiful flower centerpiece!
I have been collecting for over fifty years and am downsizing due to upcoming retirement. Additional choice items will be added in the coming days and weeks. Please ask any questions. Shipped with USPS Priority Mail. Alaska and Hawaii incur higher shipping cost.
