This listing is for a beautiful American cut and engraved glass tall tazza/compote with vivid Pomona green pedestal stem and base, c. 1900's. The glass was made by Frederick Carder soon after his arrival in America and in the early period of the Steuben Glass Works and the top was cut at Hawkes. T. G. Hawkes was instrumental in bringing Frederick Carder to America and the rest is history. The colorless glass top platform is decorated with a diamond cut band surrounding the outside border with oval panel cut design surrounding the center. The tall applied glass stem is notch-cut on the top third of the stem and sits on a wide base with multi-cut starburst design on the bottom.
Measures 7 1/4" high with a 7" diameter top and 3 5/8" diameter base. Weighs 13 ounces.
This gorgeous compote is in excellent Estate condition with no noted flaws and reflecting only minimal signs of wear on base.
