    Description

    Collection
    Extremely nice tankard pitcher/ jug in the Monarch pattern and signed by J. Hoare. Pattern is illustrated, with the additional hobstar variation, in the 1997 ACGA J. Hoare re-print catalog. This piece is heavy (for size) and voluminous. Size is 10 1/2" high x 5 1/2" diameter (full body of 7" high x 5 1/2" diameter). I believe this is the largest size, they made, of this type pitcher. Nice horizontal step cutting on neck to rim. Base is ray cut. Handle is cut with alternating single/ double punties. Glass is crystal clear and has excellent light refracting properties. This piece is of the highest quality and cutting is sharp to the touch and very precise. Weight is heavy at over 7 lb, 9 oz. Handle attachment is good and has appropriate shelf wear on bottom.  Great brilliance in person and much better than my amateur photography shows ! If you have any questions or need additional pictures; please ask and I'll try to take and/ or answer if I can.
    Side note: great example of this maker/ pattern; absolutely no disappointment !! This tankard/ pitcher is much nicer and better in person than my photography shows...!!!

    I have been collecting cut glass for thirty + years and most of the cut glass, I am selling, is from my personal collection. A few pieces will be items I purchased to re-sell to help defer cost of the collecting. I indicate, where its coming from, as either re-sale or collection. Quality of items will range from above average to outstanding. Most items will be American brilliant with some brilliant period European color as well. I will give as much "known" detail about an item as I can. This will include maker, pattern, quality, any defects and/ or damage. I am a discriminating collector and only purchased items of the highest quality and condition.
    For reference;
    if you become a repeat customer (lets say 3 + listings or multiples of one listing); I will discount shipping cost no matter the final sale price.
    Before you make an offer or purchase one of my items I have listed for sale; please read the updated shipping policy (below) effective 8-31-2021.
    Shipping Policy updated and effective 8-31-2021
    :
    with the current increase in shipping disruptions, lost or damaged parcels; if your purchase is valued at greater than 0.00; buyer is strongly encouraged to purchase enough additional insurance to cover the total cost of the item(s) they have bought.
    If you chose not to purchase the additional insurance; any and all loss(es), determined to be caused by the carrier, will be
    incurred by you, the buyer/ purchaser
    . I can no longer afford to absorb this cost.
    Shipping cut glass can be a little expensive due to it's weight and the need for double boxing. I will not compromise safely shipping an item to save a couple dollars. Some items will require direct signature receipt and insurance. I want your item to arrive in the same condition as it left. I realize my default shipping method selection of "USPS Parcel Select" may appear expensive, but I must pick something. Once you purchase; I will pack your item then ship using the most cost effective and reasonable service available. Typically and except for possibly Priority Mail; FedEx is cheaper for longer distances than USPS and vice-versa. Regardless; any over-payment is always refunded. The best option is to request an estimate before purchase or wait for an invoice from me, not Ebay, after purchase; that way you will know the true cost.
    Finally, I will describe items with as much detail and accuracy as possible, but there is a small chance I may miss something minor. These items are 90+ years old and are being sold as is and not returnable. This is not a reflection on the condition or quality of any of the items for sale. My feedback is a testament to my customer service, quality of merchandise and honesty. Thanks for looking.
