Description
FREDERICK Hurton RHEAD (1880 - 1942) forWELLER
Experimental glaze Birdimal vase, trailed slip decorated with Japanese geisha and trees, Zanesville, OH, ca. 1903
Incised Weller/ Rhead /Faience/ V (?), "113", with the initials "LS" incised on the body.
8 inches tall by 4 inches in diameter. The mouth of the vase is 1 7/8ths inches and the base is 2 1/4 inches across
The vase is in excellent condition, free of chips, or large scratches. There is a single faint line, probably a mold mark, which can be seen in the next to last photo just to the left of the incised mark . There is intentional fine crazing, and probably some light scratching, although the only one that I see is right next to the incised LS, and visible in that photo.
