Description

This hand painted Weller Pottery Vase stands 8 1/2'' tall and is 3 1/4'' in diameter top and bottom. It is an outstanding example of Weller craftsmanship and artistry.  Probably made in the 1910-1920 era it is decorated with an Iris motif and signed  'Axline'.  The colors of soft blues and greens have a satin finish. The condition is excellent having passed both visual and finger inspection.  No cracks, chips or crazing were found on the exterior and in sunlight only minimal craziing was noted inside.
The Weller Pottery was founded in Fultonham, Ohio in 1872. In 1882 the company moved to Zanesville, Ohio where production continued until 1948 when the company went out of business.
